BÄ.RO’s specialised retail lighting fixtures are making a world of difference to the atmosphere and customer experience at the new Corry’s Food Hall & Café, recently opened by award winning Declan Corry Butchers, in Loughrea, County Galway. The new store is located on Station Road, Loughrea and is just a short walk from the company’s existing shop. The BÄ.RO team, working alongside store designer Marie O’Neill, have created a lighting system that perfectly illuminates the wide variety of meat, fresh fish, organic fruit, vegetables and cheeses, baked goods and fine wines in the ground floor food emporium. The solution also delivers a soft ambience to ensure a comfortable atmosphere in the unique glass fronted mezzanine level café where customers can eat in a relaxed social environment. Commenting on this project’s challenges, BÄ.RO’s Sales Manager John Byrne said, “The ceiling levels were dramatically different on each floor, which necessitated particular attention. We had to consider the increased ground floor ceiling height when specifying the track lighting fixtures to ensure superior light distribution for the produce that has secured Declan Corry’s award-winning reputation. Similar consideration had to be given for the solid, low level ceiling on the mezzanine floor where our aim was to create the best possible customer atmosphere through the use of soft lighting. The appearance of the lighting fixtures was also important especially on the mezzanine floor where our aesthetically pleasing complimentary range fixtures have been installed.” Commenting on his recently opened food emporium, Declan Corry said, “The idea of expanding our offering from meat comes from my passion for fresh, locally produced food and has been in my head for a number of years. A lot of planning and research has gone into this new venture, which is the first of its kind in east Galway. For this reason it was important that our shop lighting fixtures were given special attention and I’m delighted with the job that the BÄ.RO team has done for us.
