Lighting industry leader BÄ.RO has been involved in an exclusive project with Weston Park Foundation to design and implement lighting for their prestigious new Granary shop and Gallery. The Shop, located in the beautifully renovated stone Granary building, will sell a range of local produce and the in-house Butchery will supply locally reared meat, poultry, sausages and game along with a selection of cooked meats. The top floor Gallery will display changing exhibitions throughout the year. As with all BÄ.RO lighting schemes, this solution was designed with energy efficiency and low-cost maintenance in mind while also providing the best possible light levels within the shop and gallery resulting in the use of their renowned Batwing technology. BÄ.RO fixtures successfully accentuate the merchandise and provide a modern, unobtrusive visual appearance to the store; and also have managed to highlight the exceptional beamed roof area and stunning staircase with a contemporary design, seemlessly combining old with new. Steve Brough, BÄ.RO’s Design & Technical Manager, comments, “The luminaire and lamp combinations chosen from the BÄ.RO range were deliberately aimed at ensuring maximum lighting effect with minimal visual impact. This is particularly important when incorporating modern lighting technologies within historic buildings such as Weston Park.” So delighted with the overall result of the installation, Weston Park Foundation have since commissioned BÄ.RO to illuminate the front façade of the Granary Building.
