Morton’s latest foodcourt in Dublin’s trendy new retail and commercial development at Park Place on Hatch Street presents an impressive showcase of the expertise and product range of BÄ·RO, whose lighting installation has perfectly enhanced the venue’s retail environment. Morton’s has been providing a wide range of quality food produce to generations of Dubliners since 1934 and the Company recently launched a prestigious new food-court in the retail vaults of Park Place, which required an innovative new lighting installation by BÄ·RO. Working alongside Alan Haydon, store designer for NEA Design, BÄ·RO provided a solution that would complement this iconic location at Park Place, whilst being sympathetic to the architecture of this listed building and the surrounding heritage site. The store’s location within the former railway arches of what was once Harcourt Train Station is situated within a prestigious business environment and presented a number of challenges for the BÄ·RO Lighting team, as John Byrne Sales Manager for BÄ·RO Lighting outlines: ‘The distinctive shape of the arches and the different ceiling heights required special attention to ensure that both products and floor space were fully illuminated. As the retail vaults themselves were listed as part of a heritage site we had to carefully consider the original stonework. Our design utilised a suspended three circuit track system so that the fixtures could be hung from the track to provide maximum lighting while complementing the heritage of the location.’ ‘In addition, our installation needed to illuminate the vast range of produce offered at Morton’s, such as flowers, fresh fruit and vegetables, meat and fish produce and a delicatessen counter, which highlights the versatility of our lighting products within the food retail environment.’ The BÄ·RO Lighting installation at Morton’s in Park Place further strengthens BÄ·RO’s relationship with Morton’s having completed previous successful projects for the Dublin based company at Beechwood Avenue and the original store on Dunville Road in Ranelagh. Store designer Alan Haydon highlights why BÄ·RO have been so successful in delivering lighting solutions to the retail industry: ‘BÄ·RO offer a market leading range of products that provide the perfect lighting solution for retail businesses.’ Commenting on the BÄ·RO installation at Park Place, Gary Morton, Managing Director for Morton’s said: ‘I’m delighted with the results. The installation provided by BÄ·RO perfectly complements the whole concept of Park Place in blending Dublin’s unique heritage with its modern cosmopolitan appeal. The comments from our customers have been very positive and sales have been fantastic.’ In the retail industry, lighting is essential to success as John Byrne points out: ‘In the highly competitive world of retail sales, maximising the customer appeal of your business and products through appropriate lighting is vital. We are market leaders in supplying retail lighting solutions and our innovative and flexible range of lighting products and designs can be used to illuminate any environment to maximise the purchasing experience of the customer.’ ‘Our installation at Morton’s in Park Place highlights our ability to work successfully within restrictive, conservation sites and shows how lighting can be used to enhance the complete customer experience by creating an inviting and welcoming shopping environment.’ For further information about how BÄ.RO Lighting can develop a retail lighting solution for you call (ROI) 01 2962607 or (UK) 0161 777 9292.
