Warners Budgens

Warner's Budgens
Client and Location:
This Budgens store is located in the upmarket leafy village of Bidford on Avon which is in the district of Stratford-upon-Avon or Shakespeare’s hometown as it is more popularly known. It is owned and run by successful retailer Guy Warner who has two other award-winning stores in neighbouring Broadway and Moreton.
Brief:
The lighting brief specified a lighting solution that was to create different product zones within the store. It was to define these zones (wine cellar, bakery, delicatessen etc) by providing the appropriate high quality “sensory experience” using light whilst also protecting the produce on display and creating a modern fresh feel. The solution was also to be cost efficient and energy saving in order to benefit from a Carbon Trust Interest Free Loan
Solution:
Upon entering the store the customer experience begins immediately in the lead aisle which has a food hall effect with high ceilings and suspended feature pendants which produce a “cosy-warm” light effect to highlight the locally supplied fresh produce and bakery.

In the main body of the store BÄ.RO has placed its linear energy saving T5 fluorescent with “cold-light” effect to reinforce value for money ambient offerings. BÄ.RO also provided a “punch-light” effect to the gondola ends to promote impulse purchasing. Finally before arriving at the checkout area the customer’s senses are once again triggered by the sharp “warm-sparkle” effect of the wine department’s accent lighting.
Customer Comments:
Guy is already reaping the benefits of the new lighting design - “The overall scheme is fantastic, the look, feel & ambience have all been achieved to our standards and are on a par with what we set out to achieve”. Having looked at various lighting solutions, Guy added that “BÄ.RO’s cost pro-rata to other manufacturer’s is extremely competitive and the quality of a very high standard”. In today’s struggling economy more and more retailers are looking to find ways to reduce running costs without compromising on the customer’s purchasing experience in the store, Guy commented “I have already noticed that my energy bill has dropped dramatically and in line with the Carbon Trust Loan approval guidelines”.

BÄ.RO Lighting creates the right mood, highlight’s displays attractively and produces a positive environment that increases customer spend.
