BÄ.RO Lighting, in partnership with CDW Design Consultants, were tasked with designing a new lighting concept for budgens in Abbots Langley and a range of specialist retail lighting was used to create a new and exciting shopping environment, with a special emphasis on the fresh food and food-to-go areas. 

The Libra Batwing luminaire was used extensively to light the store’s perimeter walls and wall displays. With varying ceiling heights throughout the store, a combination of fittings could be used to create a vibrant and fresh feeling. The Carina fixture was used in the general service area and with the addition of its attractive glass shade, it showcased the fresh food counter and gondola end displays to perfection. In the fresh produce area there was an open ceiling and pendants were fixed to an optimum height to create a dramatic effect. The store was completed using BÄ.RO’s Aquarius fitting to light the main and entrance aisles.

Garry Slater, BÄ.RO Lighting’s Key Account Manager, commented on the installation, “This is a store that BÄ.RO can be proud of. It uses a combination of energy saving T5 fluorescent products through dry goods areas in combination with BÄ.RO product-enhancing lighting, resulting in a store that is pleasing on the eye.”

This store really serves the community – while the Abbots Langley store was being re-fitted, the owners provided their loyal customers with a free bus shuttle to their other store 7 miles away!
